So for a few days now I have wondered if I should start up my blog again. I feel it is time to go on a face book sabbatical. Full of too much drama. I make lots of things and do lots and think it might be fun to post stuff here. I do lots of paper crafting, crafts, girl scouts, and I am even trying to make a good dinner now and then. So, here we go. One post a week for now and we will see how it goes. I can't believe it has been 4 years since I have added a comment. The timing is right. I need a little therapy of my own.

Seven Deadly Sins of Scrapbooking

I have been scrapbooking since about 1987. I had the greatest boss who allowed us to set up an area in the office where we could leave our stuff out. He saw what joy it brought us and allowed us to share in skills. Which at that time there weren't many skills at all needed other than just using a photocopier. Over the years scrapbooking has almost become an obsession. Sure I have tried other crafts but this is the one I always stick with rain or shine.

It wasn't long ago that I had read an article about the Seven Deadly Sins. I think they also pertain to Scrapbooking. Yes, even scrapbooking. The Seven Sins are Greed, Gluttony, Lust, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, and Pride. As I was thinking about them I realized they encompassed many aspects of scrapbooking. I fall under each and every sin it is not even funny. I bet you do too.

GREED - I have over the years been really greedy with my stuff. I have stuff that I am sure I bout 10 years ago that is still waiting for that perfect moment or layout to use them on. I go through phases where I purchase one item because I don't have enough and then it is like I go crazy and buy lots of it until I sometimes even realize that I will never be able to use what I have. But don't you dare ask to have it because it is like my other stash waiting for the perfect memory to use it on.

GLUTTONY - This is along the same lines as Greed. I have such an over consumption and overindulgence in some items such as paper, ribbon and rub-ons. I don't think it is bad until I have so much I can't make a decision on what to use. I do over shop and that is Gluttony.

LUST - How can you lust after scrapbooking???? Easy . . . . I love products. I don't have any one particular product that I have to have right now. But if it appears shiny at a store, warehouse sale, or expo sale then I have to have. I go to the online stores and lust over all the new products that will be coming out and start searching, or should I say stalking the stores for the shiny.

SLOTH - I am pretty organized and have many organization tools and techniques that I use to keep from getting slothy. But There are times when I become lazy and my are becomes messy. I do find stuff all over my home that I keep giving to Jessika to take down to my Scrap Table and there it sits. I do become lazy at times but I try my hardest to ensure that I pick up after myself in my scrap room.

WRATH - When I was thinking about Wrath, I thought that I am never angry or have rage when it comes to scrapping. It makes me happy and I use it at time to relieve my stress. Then I remembered how get sometimes at the Expo. I will leave this one up to your imagination and say no more. ~:)

ENVY - I do envy others and their talent. I also see other products that people use and just wish I could use that. I envy people who can scrap quickly and yet elegantly to get the emotion that should be on the page there. I am definitely guilty of Envy.

PRIDE - Without a doubt I feel pride. My pages are my families memories. I love to share them and remember what brought me to where I am today. I guess you could say I have an inner glow when I see my accomplishments within my scrappin'. I don't thinking taking pride in what I do is a bad thing just as long as it is not excessive. Nobody like someone with a scrapbooking ego.

This is how I see my Seven Deadly Sins. I bet the next time you are sitting down, if you didn't already, then you will see many of these within your self as well.

S.W.A.P. Box

Jessika is learning about S.W.A.P.S. in GS. So I couldn't send her out to do some swapping with an ugly old shoe box. So I did a little paper crafting. Check it out. It was so much easier than I thought it would be.
I bought these metal boxes at and expo a few times ago. I had to have them but I haven't used them at all. I think she had fun. I might have to make me one one two.

Tell me about the day I was born . . .

I wanted to know more about it. What day was I born on? What was the big movie of the day? So I was checking out some old magazines and found some GR8 sites. My personal favorite is - dayofbirth.co.uk.

What an awesome site. This site will not only tell you how old you are to the day, but how old you are in minutes and seconds. It will even tell you how old you are in dog years. That was kind of funny. I liked it because you could type in anybody birth date and it is printable so you could put it in your scrapbooks.

I have re listed my above favorite and added some other cool sites about the day you were born. Some will show favorite movies, TV, shows, and will tell you the average cost of bread, gas, and a home. Hope you enjoy.

Happy St. Patti's Day

I love scrapping. I even have a room dedicated to it. I will have to post some pictures here cause it is a work in progress. I know it will be until the day I die to. It is in our basement which is unfinished. I hope to inspire myself to put up a wall or two and make it my own. So as for now because I am doing this at work I can't add any pictures. I will do so shortly. I also hope to keep up on things now that summer is coming and Teddy is out of the house working.

Here are some cool sites that I like. I will figure out how to post the link off to the side so you check them out too. But here goes something.

Those are the two newest sites that I found and I just love them. Check it out.

Oh and YES, if you were wondering. I personally took the picture of the butterfly above.
